Friends,
I wanted to let you know that my new book - Supercommunicators - will be released next month. Despite working as a journalist for over two decades, I’ve struggled, at times, with communicating and connecting with the people most important to me. So I spent the last three years learning how to listen better, talking with researchers about how to speak so others want to hear me and, most of all, understanding how we can make the most important conversations go better.
Supercommunicators is about the science of conversation and connection. My hope is that it helps you become a supercommunicator. It explores how marriage counselors teach couples to hear what is unsaid, how the CIA recruits spies by matching their vulnerability, how Netflix navigated an internal war by helping people discuss race and belonging, how NASA identifies astronauts with emotional intelligence and what research tells us about communicating better with our kids (even when they are teenagers).
The book can be pre-ordered now, and Barnes and Noble is offering a 25% discount (use the coupon code COMMUNICATE25 when you check out.) It’s also available at Amazon, Bookshop, Audible and, well, pretty much anywhere you buy books (including your local bookstore!).
You can also just hit this button:
I would be honored if you consider pre-ordering Supercommunicators, and if you do, I would love to send you a gift - a signed bookplate addressed to you or anyone you’d like to give this book to, as well as other goodies. Simply send me a note and your mailing address, and I’ll get something out to you.
Thank you for considering this - I’ve been working on this book for a long time, and I can’t wait to share it with you and hear what you think. As always, I’m so grateful for your incredible support, and I promise I’ll be back with a normal dose of science-based lessons soon.
