Love the new format for this issue—when online reading seems overwhelming, conciseness is delightful. I especially like how the "How does this make your life better" stands out.
Concise. Love it. My Thanksgiving is Sunday, so Ill try dry brining this breast for 24 hours. Its my first time roasting one. Not gonna be great, but itll be edible.
The first time I had juicy roasted turkey at a strangers home in Brooklyn, it blew my mind. Had no idea it was possible. But I also care a lot more about food than the average person. Back in middle america, we fry em to keep em juicy. No clue which process is easier. Frying is definitely more dangerous and exciting.
Inspired by Priya Parker, last Christmas I asked my aunt how she had ended up in her first job (when I wasn’t even born) and the conversation was very new and interesting. I’m not sure she had ever told anyone the story this way. when I was a kid, adults didn’t really talked or played with us, so I realize now that I don’t know much about my « elders »’s inner life and I wish to know them better before they die. Thanksgiving is a good opportunity for these kind of conversations!
I'm a huge fan of this format! The Power of 3: Engaging photo, the what, and the why it will make life better with your insights and spot on writing style!
I'm already looking forward to the next one.
Clear that your nephew will have multiple options as he gets older; there are definite young Steve Martin/Chevy Chase vibes there... wouldn't rule out acting/ comedy just yet.

Liked the letter with special kudos to the nephews. ☺️
Holiday dinners are usually just my husband and myself We have the basics - Turkey, stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce and a vegetable.
Every day of leftovers - we add a different side dish - works for us.
PS My great uncle only liked 2 kinds of pie...
Hot and Cold 👍
I think your great uncle was on to something smart.
Loved it!
Thank you!

Edible is what's important. (And let's be honest, the difference between a great turkey and a simply edible turkey isn't that wide.)

Cool, and very fun! Thanks for the newsletter.
Thank you!
I'm thinking that your nephew has a great future ahead of him😛
politics, perhaps?
Or stand-up comedian?
I like the « short & sweet » format.
